性狀：白色無定形粉末。比重4 962(15℃)，415℃分解。易溶于酸，不溶于水和堿溶液，易呈膠狀物，熱至100℃失去一分子水而成黃色的偏氫氧化鉍。
用途：通用試劑。用于鉍鹽的制造。蕓香苷及櫟精的吸收劑核糖核酸的水解，從受輻照的鈾中分離钚。
